Participants: who can come?
Everyone participating in the World Scout Jamboree has to be a member of an organisation that is part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). To check if your organisation or association is a member, access the list of National Scout Organisations on the WOSM website.
To be a participant at the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden 2011, you need to have turned 14 but not yet had your 18th birthday at the start of the camp. That means you must have been born between 25 July 1993 and 27 July 1997. Each Scout has only one opportunity to be a participant at a World Jamboree, so if you are in this age group, now is your chance!
To apply to come to the World Scout Jamboree, you need to register with the group of Scouts from your country who are preparing to join the Jamboree. These groups are called National Contingents. The National Contingents will probably start their preparations early, so keep an eye out for their information in your national newsletters, scout magazines and on your national scout website. In the coming months and years, you will find useful information on this website to help you prepare for the Jamboree experience.
