About Sweden

There is a great deal to see and do in Sweden both before and after the Jamboree. A few hours north of the campsite lies the capital city of Stockholm, well-known as one of the most beautiful capitals of the world. Other unique places to visit are the coastal areas to the east and west, both of which have fantastic archipelagos with hundreds of islands where summer guests can bask and bathe in the sun.

If you you're still yearning for even more outdoor life after the Jamboree, you will find that the Swedish landscape offers unlimited possibilities for natural adventures. Forests, mountains and lakes are magnificent and, besides this, they are easily accessible thanks to the unique Right of Public Domain. This right is a part of a very old set of laws giving everyone the right to move about freely in woods and fields.

Why not visit the surrounding region of Skåne: 400 kilometres of sandy beaches and big, beautiful national parks. Fields of yellow rapeseed and deep green forests. Peaceful country life and grand city vistas!

Sweden also has a history with fine old traditions. You can still find traces of the Vikings who lived in Scandinavia a thousand years ago. Well-preserved rune stones and other relics can be found in many places, telling us about the life of these world renowned seafarers.
